This week, I’d like to focus on the story of Levy Odera. He shared his story at the Self Narrate sponsored Story Slam on November 5, 2014.
Levy grew up in Africa in extreme poverty. He saw education as the only way out. However, how do you go to college when you can’t afford it? Desperate times call for desperate measures. He stole an education.
Listening to personal stories is a powerful way for us to reflect on our lives through engaging with the lived experiences of others. Levy’s story is a reminder not to take for granted the things that seem so accessible to so many of us in the United States.
