"Are you sparkling?"
I was taken aback by the question. It seems like the sort of thing you’d hear in the Twilight franchise.
“Is what you’re doing making you sparkle?”
She asked me the question again. I didn't know what she meant.
“When you’re sparkling, you feel good inside. You radiate the positivity you’re feeling from the inside out. Are you doing what makes you sparkle? If you’re not, stop doing it.”
The simplicity of this decision-making method crystallized for me that I was on a path towards doing something with my life that was not making me happy. I didn’t sparkle doing it or even thinking about it. It would have lessened my “sparkle” for everything else in my life.
So I stopped. And I’m only doing things that make me sparkle.
For a happier, more fulfilling life, look at the activities you’re engaged in and ask yourself:
“Does this make me sparkle?”
If yes, keep doing what you’re doing.
If no, stop.
It’s really as simple as that.
